The Facts

In the last 12 months:

• Fire and Rescue Services undertook 82,000 inspections of non-domestic premises with over 40% found to fall short of the require standard set out by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.
• 34,500 notifications, 3,800 enforcement notices, 442 prohibition notices, 84 alteration notices and 60 prosecutions resulting in fines or imprisonment were issued against companies (including care homes, hotels and hospitals) failing to comply with the order.
